Colorado August Expedition

Our August Expedition will be held at a Spring Canyon ranch in Colorado right in the heart of the Rockies. The ranch is nestled in the beautiful Collegiate Peaks on the edge of the famous Arkansas River Valley. It’s an incredible venue with beautiful lodges and log cabin chalet’s.  It’s a phenomenal place and to see more, check out the video above.

The powerful blending of teaching sessions, film clips, and guided periods of reflection combine to give you a vision of what God intends for you as a man.

We will be having some awesome adventures, like a Jeep ride across 13,000 foot passes near Buena Vista, CO, great shotgun and skeet shooting, rappelling and more.  The activities are designed to be fun, and enjoyable for a man of any age. Each man is free to participate in any of the activities based upon his comfort zone, level of interest, and fitness level. The good news is you don’t have to be a triathlete to participate in the adventure activities.

The accommodations at the ranch are top notch lodges and log cabin chalets that include kitchens and patio decks. The beds are very comfortable and the menu has received rave reviews. There is a gym, full work out room, climbing wall, a running river and crystal clear spring lakes filled with trout.

This last year’s August Expedition was so powerful and over 80% of the men said it was 5 of the best days of their lives. We invite you to attend our August Expedition and encourage you to invite your friends. We will have spaces for 120 men. We expect it to fill up soon.

Check out this 75 second video for glimpse into our epic Expedition location.

Dates

Tuesday August 24th – Sunday August 29th

Time of arrival and time of departure

In order to attend the Expedition you MUST be there the entire time from start to finish. You need to arrive at the ranch no later than 4:30 p.m. on August 24th, 2021.  Which means arriving in the Denver Airport no later than 2:00 p.m. The Expedition concludes late Saturday night. For the return flight, you can leave as early on Sunday morning as you desire. It’s a 2.5 hour drive from The Ranch to the Denver airport. So take that into consideration when making your return flight reservation. Some men are catching flights that leave Denver at 9:00 a.m. which means a 5:00 a.m. departure from the Ranch.  In order to attend each man is required to attend the Expedition from beginning to end.

Transportation

1. Arrange flight to Denver Airport, and then drive out to ranch

Purchase your own flight to the Denver Airport on August 24th that arrives before 1:00 p.m. You will need to meet up with the other men arriving at the Denver airport no later than 2:00 p.m. to make the drive to the ranch. Drive time from Denver Airport to the ranch is 2.5 hours. Let us know your flight information and we will put you in touch to carpool with a group of men arriving at a similar time. Your team will rent and split the cost all on your own. Drive time from the Denver Airport to the ranch is 2.5 hours.

2. Arrange to drive to the ranch from Colorado or States adjacent to Colorado

If you are in Colorado, the adjacent states, or simply up for a great road trip, click on the link below for directions. Please allow plenty of time for the trip and arrive at 4:30 p.m. on August 24th.

To Prepare

We recommend that you prepare for the Expedition by reading John Eldredge’s book “Wild at Heart”. The book can be ordered on amazon. Please read the entire book before you come. If you have read it before and it has been some time since you last read it, we ask that you re-read it again before coming.

Also, if you want additional material to work through, we suggest working through the Field Manual with Wild at Heart—it is the best workbook we have seen for helping a man recover his heart.

What to Bring

Keep in mind that mountain weather in August can be very unpredictable; it can be cold at night, warm in the day, and can be cold while we ride Jeeps over the the mountain passes. A list of what to bring is below; please be reasonable with packing since there are baggage limits on the planes and limited storage in the rentals.
